Anders Zorn: Travelling the World, Remembering the Land
Exhibition 2026, Madrid
In May 2026, I had the opportunity to visit the Anders Zorn Exhibition ''Travelling the World, Remembering the Land" at Fundación Mapfre in Madrid (Feb 19–May 17, 2026). It was, without question, one of the most memorable exhibitions I have ever seen.
I spent the entire day at the exhibition and returned to many of the works several times. During one of my visits, I decided to photograph and film the paintings in their entirety, creating a record that I could return to after the exhibition had closed.
I have now assembled these photographs, together with information cards from the exhibition that I have recreated, and made them available here as a digital resource.

Exhibition Video
I have also put together a longer video walkthrough using footage I recorded during my visit. Rather than simply showing individual paintings, the video aims to give a sense of what it was like to actually move through the exhibition.
Photographs
The original photographs are very large files, so the versions provided here have been reduced in resolution to make them practical to download and view. They still retain enough detail to allow you to zoom in and examine Zorn's extraordinary handling of paint.
Sharing the Photographs
These photographs are provided primarily so that people can explore and enjoy Zorn's work after the exhibition has ended. You are welcome to share them for non-commercial purposes.
If you do share one of my photographs, please consider crediting Forgotten Palette (@forgotten_palette) or linking back to this page. This is completely optional, however, the main purpose of sharing these images is simply to make Zorn's work available for people to enjoy and admire.
Please remember that the paintings themselves remain the work of Anders Zorn and their respective rights holders. The photographs on this page are my own documentation of the exhibition.
I hope this collection allows those who couldn't visit the exhibition in person to experience at least a little of what made it so remarkable.
How to view and download
The photographs are hosted on Google Drive. You can browse through the collection online, download individual photographs that interest you, or download the entire collection at once.
If you choose to download the complete collection, I recommend doing so on a computer rather than a phone, as the folder contains a large number of high-resolution images.
Photos from the Museum
These photographs show the exhibition as it was installed, offering a glimpse of the layout and atmosphere of the galleries. They are stills taken from the video footage I recorded during my visit. The full-resolution images are also available to download using the link above.
