Samuel Alvarez is a British-Spanish painter based in Key West, Florida. He studied Graphics and Illustration at SGS College in Stroud, England, before continuing his training in classical drawing and painting at the Barcelona Academy of Art, where he developed a strong foundation in the academic methods of the nineteenth century.

Working primarily in oils, Samuel paints both landscapes and figurative subjects, often working en plein air to study the changing effects of light and atmosphere directly from nature. His work is rooted in careful observation and traditional craftsmanship, while seeking to capture moments of quiet beauty and a strong sense of place.

Since moving to the Florida Keys, the region's tropical light, coastal landscapes, and unique character have become a central source of inspiration. Alongside his studio practice, Samuel has exhibited internationally and continues to teach workshops in drawing and painting, sharing the classical techniques that underpin his work.
