Forgotten Palette is an art-sharing and archival project created and curated by artist Samuel Alvarez. It began as a page on Instagram and Facebook dedicated to exploring historical works of art, with a particular focus on the 19th and early 20th centuries.

 

A special emphasis is placed on the academic traditions, techniques, and skills found in the art of these periods, and on what we, as artists and students today, can learn from them.

Alongside sharing individual works and artists, Forgotten Palette also collects and preserves photographs, exhibition material, and other resources that make it possible to explore these works beyond the original post.
